When I took over this project, I had already decided I would wait to make the feature until later in December, maybe even until Christmas... just because it's a great day to read messages of love, brethren and appreciation for loved ones. (:

So here we are! :dummy: this is the first journal of the notes I received for The Thanksgiving Note Project 2015 . Of course, all notes are pasted here without the name of the person that wrote them!

Every participant has been given a prize, and if you click on the link to the original journal you can read who got what! You will all be contacted and receive your prizes soon. thank you for participating, and happy holidays to you all.

The Notes

I am thankful for my family and friends who have always put up with my stubbornness and have supported me over the years. I am also thankful for the many people in my life who have supported me as an artist and my artwork, helping me grow and improve.

:star:

I'm grateful for the friendship of the lady who posts this journal as well as many many other people that I can't mention without getting all sentimental and stuff. If you're reading this it might well include you. I'm grateful that gravity keeps the things and people I love nicely tied to the earth. I'm grateful that I was born in a privileged position in the most advanced society so far. I'm grateful that I enjoy exercise and other things that are good for me. I'm grateful that there is so much beautiful nature out there to enjoy.

:star:

I'm thankful for everyone who I came across this year; it is my last year in highschool and to sum it up it wasnt one of my best years. All lot of things happened and I'm grateful for my parents who stuck it through and didn't give up on me. I am also grateful for my friends who encouraged me along the way and who continued to inspire me to do better. Because of all these people, nor only did I improve in art but also improved greatly as a person.

2015 has been a year similar to that of a roller coaster for me. It's had some exhilarating highs and some horrible lows, yet I'm thankful for the ride it's given me and all the experiences I've had in it. I'm also thankful it's coming to a close because I desperately want to see if 2016 is going to turn out to be a better one.
I'm thankful that someway, somehow, I got out of the depression that had been leaving me with mental fog since October of last year. I'm happy that I can smile naturally and enjoy being with my friends again.
I'm thankful for my mom. Yes, it's cheesy, but she's always been my cheerleader and willing to lend a helping hand when I pile myself on with too much work. She's helped me untangle so many problems by giving me a logical and unbiased opinion on most matters. Honestly, she's the best.
I'm also really thankful that this year I got put on medicine that makes it so my lungs can do their job again. Running for softball or climbing up stairs is no longer a pain anymore. I can breathe again and that's a truly wonderful thing.

:star:

I am thankful for dreams.
This already sounds self-centered, doesn't it? It is, in a way. My dreams are a way of telling what I really feel. Through them, I've solved many personal problems, and learned quite a lot about myself. Dream-Me does a lot of things I'd have been too embarrassed to do before, and when I wake up I realize that I truly want to do so. Dreams help me carry out the acts that I, at my core, want to.

Dear Mom and Dad,

I would like you to know that I appreciate the help and support you have showered on me since I was a child. With your teachings and principles, you have indeed made a difference in my life. I remember how you taught my lessons and spent sleepless nights when I was sick. Your unconditional hugs, your presence at every school event I participated in, and the way you encouraged me to learn things are the special memories that I will always treasure.

Mom and dad, I would like to convey my heartfelt gratitude to you for teaching me what is good and what is not. You made me understand how to grow up with others and feel for them even when they may not belong to my family. You were the first to let me know how to share and care for others, and I continue to share my blessings with the people around me.

I would further say that you have given me the sweetest memories that make me feel homesick, the chance to make what i like drawing and a lot of sports and I understand that I was indeed loved and treasured. I have often misunderstood your intentions when I was younger. But I am aware now that you did everything for my good. I hope that this letter finds you in the best of your health and I once again thank you for giving me those precious memories of my life, which I shall cherish forever.

I Am Thankful

For coffee, books and rain
The chance to start again
Water that is sweet
When it and dry lips meet

For wind on quiet days
Browns and greens and grays
The inky smell of pens
The sparkling of jems

For silence in the night
Birdsong with the light
Friendship in the storm
Each day since I was born

For flowers in the spring
Each perfect, precious thing
The Gift of God above
His sacred, saving Love

Grateful to maintain my home and to create illustrations. The ability to interact with my friends and family on occasion is beneficial for me.

I am thankful for many things, first and for most my friends. My friends are always there for me, even when my family is not. I know most people will say it the other way around, but for me that has never been true. I am also thankful for animals and all of creation and nature, because without nature we couldn't have the basics of art. Finally, I am thankful for books and my ability to read, because books can take me into another world and help me forget all my problems. That is all. Thank you for your time.

I am grateful for the recognition I have received over the course of the years here on DeviantArt.
It has given me the courage to apply for a job in the industry, and even though I got turned down, the thought of making this hobby my profession wouldn't even have come up if not for the invaluable feedback and encouragement from the wonderful folks on this site.
To those still thinking in terms of expectations, and not possibilities, I'd like to ask that they lift their chins and look up and around, because there just might be more within reach than you'd expect.

Thanksgiving is like the middle child in the family of winter holidays.

Halloween, his younger brother, gets showered with sweets and attention. Christmas, his merry older sister, radiates with a jubilant spirit contagious enough to go around. They both overpower Thanksgiving with their superior awesomeness. They are the ones that encourage enthusiasm throughout the seasons. They are the ones that bask in glorious spotlights.

But Thanksgiving has something that they don't.

Thanksgiving has all the thanks.

Of course, Halloween can be thankful for a spooky experience and Christmas can be thankful for the special times, but Thanksgiving can be thankful for everything.

For this, I must thank Thanksgiving for giving me my thanks. This year is a brand new mark on my life. It's the beginning of so many potential futures, so many hectic plans and events to tend to. Everything's crazy, but in a good way, in a way that will challenge myself to become better. With every year that rolls by, I share new connections with new people, and this time is no exception. For that, I'm grateful for. I'm grateful to be experiencing these experiences, to be building more on these memorable memories.

I'm grateful to be a new me.
